If your browser does not support JavaScript, for example, AOL 3.0 16-bit* or necessasary features of JavaScript, for example, early version of Netscape**, (or for some other reason you cannot access the "Members Only" area via the "password button"), you can go there directly.

Go to:  http://www.hudsonvalleyskiclub.org/private/password.html
(replace password with the actual password )
Easiest way is to copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) into your browser's "go to" box and then replace password with the actual password

Note:  Once you get to the "Members Only" area, you can Bookmark the page (save it in "Favorite Places,")  so you won't have to do this every time.  It will be valid until the password next changes.

* Note:  If you are using AOL 3.0 and your system would support AOL 4.0 32-bit, you might consider upgrading. (See AOL Keyword:  Upgrade)
** If you are using an early verison of Netscape, you might consider upgrading.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0++ appears to have changed the default security "trust" attributes, so you may not see the Password Prompt box.   You can get around this by:

  1. Use the direct URL show above (and save it in your bookmarks/favorite places).
  2. Click the information bar and select the option to “Temporarily Allow Scripted Windows”. This however only applies to the current session, so you will have to do this every time to try to enter the password (unless you bookmark as in item 1 above).
  3. The most "permanent" solution is to tell Internet Explorer that this website is a "trusted site".  If you trust this website and you know what you're doing:
    1. While browsing this website (be sure "http://www.hudsonvalleyskiclub.org" appears in your browser's's address box),
    2. Select Tools > Internet Options > Security
    3. Then highlight "Trusted sites" and select "Sites"
    4. You should see "http://www.hudsonvalleyskiclub.org" in the “Add this website to the zone:” dialog box. If so, click “Add”
    5. Be sure that the “Require Server Verification” box is un-checked.
    6. Click “Close”, then “OK”.

Caveat  This solution will lower security levels for any sites that you choose to apply this method to, and therefore may subject you to unwanted problems that stem from such security reduction.   I strongly recommend that you exercise caution and good judgment and reserve this technique strictly for sites that you know and trust.

You will get a warning message "...site is trying to open a site in your Trusted sites list...." if you link from an external website.

++ This problem does not occur if you are using Firefox.  I don't know about Safari, Chrome, Linux, Amiga or other browsers.  Anyone with experience on those browsers are welcome to advise me:  Webmaster

If you still have problems, contact your Webmaster
